The Sharjah City Municipality has announced that they will not issue parking fines until the situation returns to normal due to the recent extreme weather conditions in certain areas of Sharjah.
This decision was conveyed by the Sharjah City Municipality on Thursday, along with confirmation that no parking violations were issued during the unprecedented rainfall that occurred recently.
The announcement of parking fine waivers follows closely after the Sharjah Police declared the cancellation of all penalties for traffic violations recorded during the storm. The UAE experienced its heaviest rainfall in 75 years on April 16, attributed to the persistence of 'low surface pressure' and two successive waves of unstable weather that caused widespread disruption across the country.
In an effort to alleviate the difficulties faced by residents affected by the storm, the Sharjah City Municipality has opted to waive parking fines. This measure encompasses various parking violations, including non-payment of parking fees, occupying multiple parking spaces, and parking in designated reserved areas.
