The UAE closes these 4 Dubai Metro stations due to rain

zahraa ahmed - | Arab News

the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai made the announcement that four Dubai Metro stations will be closed for the foreseeable future. They added that the stations are currently closed because of the significant rainfall that has been occurring.

4 Dubai Metro stations stopped working

The Authority explained that the four stations of the Dubai Metro have been out of service for nearly three weeks after unprecedented storms disrupted the public transportation network in the United Arab Emirates.

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai said that the four stations that were closed are located at Onpassive, Equiti, Mashreq and Energy stations, which are all located on the Red Line, and the authority confirmed that trains do not stop at these stations.

Providing shuttle buses for passengers

On Saturday, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority said that shuttle buses are being made available to customers in order to transport them to the locations that are served by the stations that have been closed.

The authority announced earlier this week that measures for crowd management had been established at metro stations during peak hours, which are from 7 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., in order to assist in ensuring the safe functioning of the newly reduced timetable.

A number of stations on the green and red lines are closed

Following the day of record rainfall that occurred on April 16, a number of stations on the Green and Red lines were shut down because of the massive flooding that occurred.

More strong rains fell over Dubai on Thursday, although the intensity of the rains was not as intense as it had been on Wednesday.

Before embarking on their journey, passengers were strongly encouraged by the Roads and Transport Authority to check the most recent schedule for the Red Line of the Dubai Metro.

According to the statement made by the authority in X, "Please take note that shuttle buses are available to ensure access to the affected stations."

Cooperate with station staff and adhere to instructions

It would be greatly appreciated if you could cooperate with the station workers and follow the directing signs for your convenience. We are grateful to you for your comprehension.

The Transportation Authority of Dubai requested that the public temporarily restrict their use of the Dubai Metro during peak hours as a result of the severe rains that occurred in April.

Dealing with situations resulting from rainfall

In contrast, the field teams of the Dubai government have stated that they are completely equipped to cope with the wet weather condition that the emirate is experiencing today, Thursday. This is the case because the emirate is currently experiencing the rainy weather condition. In order to ensure that the safety of the general public is not compromised, the teams that are present in different parts of the emirate are exerting extraordinary efforts to deal with incidents that are the result of changes in the weather and rains.

Since the early morning, field teams in Dubai have been keen to deal with cases resulting from rainfall in all areas, to ensure public safety and public comfort, according to an integrated proactive system of procedures related to rain drainage, and to deal with cases and reports when they occur, efficiently, 24 hours a day. hour.
