Emirates Airlines announces the resumption of flights from Dubai to an African country

An announcement has been made by Emirates Airlines on the restart of flights from Dubai to a country in Africa.

Calling all Nigerian travelers! Buckle up for exciting news. Emirates, the iconic Dubai-based airline, has announced the much-anticipated return of its daily service between Lagos and Dubai, commencing October 1st, 2024. This marks the end of a near two-year hiatus and offers passengers a renewed connection to Dubai and beyond.

Connecting Passengers and Businesses

"We are excited to resume our services to Nigeria," declared Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer. This route has consistently proven popular, catering to both leisure and business travelers seeking seamless connections to Dubai and Emirates' extensive network of over 140 destinations. Kazim further expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian government for their collaboration in re-establishing this vital route.

The daily flights will operate using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, providing ample capacity for passengers and cargo. EK783 will depart Dubai at 9:45 am, arriving in Lagos by 3:20 pm. The return flight, EK784, will leave Lagos at 5:30 pm, landing conveniently in Dubai at 5:10 am the following day.

Boosting Trade Ties

The resumption of passenger flights goes hand-in-hand with a significant boost for cargo transportation. Emirates SkyCargo, the airline's dedicated cargo arm, will offer over 300 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity per week to and from Lagos. This enhanced capacity will significantly benefit Nigerian businesses, enabling them to efficiently export goods like kola nuts, food and beverages, and urgent courier materials to key markets like the UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain. Emirates SkyCargo will also facilitate the import of vital supplies like pharmaceuticals and electronics, ensuring a smooth flow of essential goods between Nigeria and key global markets.

Enhanced Travel Experience

Passengers choosing the Lagos-Dubai route can expect a comfortable and luxurious journey aboard the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER. The aircraft features 8 spacious First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and a generous 304 Economy Class seats, catering to a variety of travel preferences.

The return of Emirates' daily service signifies a renewed commitment to connecting Nigeria and the UAE. Passengers and businesses alike can rejoice at the prospect of seamless travel, boosted trade opportunities, and a world of destinations now just a flight away.
