The Sharjah City Municipality has implemented a revolutionary automated system that seamlessly integrates PoD cards with the public parking infrastructure, eliminating the need for physical card display.

Previously, PoD cardholders faced the constant worry of parking fines despite displaying their cards. Patrol cameras and scanning vehicles often failed to detect cards placed on dashboards, leading to unfair penalties. This innovative solution eradicates such concerns, ensuring a smooth and stress-free parking experience for PoD individuals.
"Our reliance on smart inspections for public parking presented a challenge," explains Hamed Al Qaed, Director of the Public Parking Department at the Sharjah City Municipality. "Scanning vehicles could only read vehicle plates, leaving PoD cards, typically placed on the dashboard, outside the reading range. This resulted in unintended parking violations for people who rightfully deserve free parking."
The new automated system elegantly solves this issue. PoD cardholders simply need to register their cards with the Sharjah City Municipality's integrated public parking system. Once registered, they can enjoy free parking access across all designated lots without the hassle of displaying their cards.
"This initiative enhances flexibility for people with disabilities, allowing them to utilize Sharjah's parking facilities with ease," Al Qaed emphasizes. "It saves them valuable time and effort, ensuring a more convenient and inclusive parking experience."
