Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport recently celebrated the inauguration of a vast new duty-free marketplace, marking a significant milestone in the capital's efforts to bolster both aviation and tourism within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During a visit to Terminals 1 and 2, Abdulaziz Al Duailej, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Ayman Abu Ababa, CEO of Riyadh Airports, meticulously examined the newly established site, acquainting themselves with its features and advancements.

Expressing his vision for the duty-free market, Al Duailej urged retailers to diversify their offerings, emphasizing the importance of incorporating a wider range of international brands encompassing perfumes, electronics, and leather goods. This call for expansion and variety reflects the airport's commitment to providing an elevated shopping experience for travelers passing through its terminals.

The expanded duty-free marketplace boasts an impressive increase in leasable space, soaring from approximately 2,000 square meters to a substantial 4,700 square meters. Strategically situated within Terminal 3 of King Khalid International Airport, this upgraded retail hub promises to captivate travelers with its extensive array of products and brands, ensuring a delightful shopping experience for all.

Moreover, Terminal 3 isn't the only area undergoing enhancements; Terminals 1 and 2 are also undergoing significant upgrades. As part of the development project, two lounges are being constructed, and the overall passenger capacity is set to rise by 40%, from 10 million to an estimated 14 million passengers annually. This expansion is not solely focused on passenger capacity; there are plans to augment both internal space and commercial areas within the duty-free market, enhancing the overall ambience and accessibility for travelers frequenting these terminals.

In essence, the inauguration of the expansive duty-free marketplace at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport signifies a pivotal step forward in the airport's ongoing efforts to elevate the travel experience for passengers while concurrently bolstering the Kingdom's aviation and tourism sectors. With its enhanced offerings and upgraded facilities, Riyadh Airport is poised to emerge as a premier travel hub in the region, captivating visitors with its modern amenities and world-class shopping opportunities.
