Dubai's new traffic strategy will broaden the scope of regulations regarding remote employment to include residents and citizens

For the purpose of enhancing the flow of traffic in Dubai, a new strategy has been developed that will enhance the application of regulations regarding flexible working hours and remote work in both the public and private sectors. The goal is to reduce the amount of traffic congestion in Dubai.

Dubai announces new traffic instructions to citizens and residents

At first glance, it was not immediately apparent how or when the policy would be put into effect. At an earlier time, the authorities in Dubai had initiated a comprehensive survey with the purpose of gaining insights into the ways in which flexible working hours and working remotely may assist alleviate traffic, particularly during peak hours.

Every office in Dubai is equipped with the necessary digital infrastructure to enable workers to do their jobs remotely in the event of an emergency. The commercial sector and the government sector both went online after the record rains that occurred in the middle of April and the beginning of May. Employees were given the opportunity to work from home.

Additionally, the development of priority public bus routes is included in the traffic flow plan that was authorized by the Executive Council on Wednesday. This proposal aims to reduce travel times by as much as 59%. Earlier, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had announced a proposal to increase Dubai's network of dedicated bus lanes to over 20 kilometers. The lanes are scheduled to be finished between the years 2025 and 2027.

Developing a policy to encourage school kids to utilize school transportation is another component of the traffic flow plan. According to the plan, this would "help improve traffic flow around schools by 13 percent."

Encouragement from the community

The meeting of the Executive Council was held at the World Trade Center during the Arabian Travel Market. The meeting was presided over by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, who was also the one who authorized the proposal.

In addition, the council gave its approval to a policy that would increase community engagement in the process of formulating policies, laws, and federal services. "The purpose of this move is to enhance the quality of services by bringing them into closer alignment with the requirements and expectations of the community. This will be accomplished by more participation from the general public. According to a press statement issued by the government of Dubai, the policy would make it easier for diverse stakeholders to work together effectively in order to improve the overall quality of life for all inhabitants of Dubai.
