Former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack on October 27, just seven months after stepping down from a decade-long tenure in significant political roles. At the time of his passing, he was 68 years old.

Li Keqiang's unanticipated passing triggered a wave of grief and astonishment on Chinese social media platforms. Several government websites adopted a black-and-white motif to symbolize official mourning, and the Weibo microblogging platform modified its "like" button to a "mourn" icon, taking on the form of a chrysanthemum, on its mobile application.
