UAE announces National Day holidays dates for private sector

The MoHRE has announced a "paid holiday" weekend for the private sector in observance of the 52nd National Day of the UAE.

A Celebratory Break for Private Sector Employees

This special break extends from Saturday, December 2, to Sunday, December 3, allowing private sector employees to enjoy an extended weekend. Normal working hours will resume on Monday, December 4.

Commemorating National Day

The UAE marks December 2 as National Day, honoring the official nationalization of the country and the establishment of federal unity among the emirates in 1971.

The official theme for this year's National Day celebrations is "Spirit of the Union," inspired by the vision and guidance of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding president of the UAE. The emblematic logo features the silhouette of the historic gathering of the UAE's founding fathers on December 2, 1971.

Grand Celebrations Across the Nation

National Day celebrations are characterized by large-scale events organized throughout the nation. Activities include vehicle rallies, dance performances, and grand fireworks displays. People express their patriotic spirit by decorating homes, businesses, vehicles, and streets with the colors of the UAE national flag. Palm trees are adorned with lights mirroring the flag's colors, creating a festive atmosphere.

Dazzling Fireworks and Illuminations

The highlight of the celebrations is the spectacular fireworks display in downtown Dubai, with the UAE flag proudly flying atop the iconic Burj Khalifa. Crowds gather to witness the breathtaking National Day fireworks and partake in the festive atmosphere. Institutions, shopping complexes, and malls join the celebration, embellishing their spaces with national flags.

Heritage Villages and Military Processions

To uphold tradition, Heritage Villages are established across the UAE, providing a glimpse into the country's rich heritage. The celebrations continue on December 3, which is also observed as a public holiday. At the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, impressive military processions take place, featuring the rulers of the Emirates, members of the Federal National Council, and Emirati residents, accompanied by captivating air shows.
