UAE airline relaunches loyalty scheme with diamond membership

In an effort to better serve its customers, Etihad Airways plans to revive its highly regarded Etihad Guest loyalty program in June 2024.

The airline's sincere appreciation for its customers is reflected in this redesigned program, which now better connects incentives with members' experiences. Also, members may personalize their perks to suit their travel tastes, giving them greater control over their experiences. In addition, the airline is introducing a new elite category called Diamond to reward its most frequent fliers.

Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, expressed excitement about the program's evolution, emphasizing that members can anticipate elevated experiences as valued participants. The enhancements are designed to deepen the partnership with Etihad Guest members worldwide, ensuring that their interactions with the airline and its lifestyle partners result in more rewarding and personalized experiences. Notably, the pricing for GuestSeats has been adjusted, with reductions in miles required for popular destinations in both economy and business classes.

In addition, as of June, members will continue to accumulate the same quantity of Etihad Guest Miles and Tier Miles for every fare booked, providing an incentive to purchase more expensive fares in exchange for greater rewards. In the interim, Platinum Tier members who fly with Etihad or eligible partners will be granted a 100% bonus Etihad Guest Miles benefit. In addition, members of Etihad Guest will be granted the chance to redeem their miles for an upgrade to The Residence, the airline's opulent three-room accommodation.

Etihad is introducing flexibility for tiered members to select extra privileges according to their lifestyle preferences, a unique offering in the region. As members progress through the tiers, they unlock a wider array of benefits and options. The program is also launching a new elite tier, Diamond, acknowledging top flyers with exclusive experiences. Furthermore, Beyond Benefits will be introduced for Gold and Platinum members, allowing them to gift rewards such as tier status or lounge passes to friends or family.

The updated program simplifies the tier progression process by eliminating tier segments, providing a straightforward method for members to track their advancement. Members will continue to earn and spend miles on flights with Etihad and its partners, with over 20 airline partners extending the validity of Etihad Guest Miles by 18 months. Additionally, miles can be accrued through various partners, including restaurants, hotels, car rentals, and retailers, offering members diverse redemption options.
