Etihad and Air France-KLM Establish Major Air Mile Partnership
In an effort to broaden the reach of their respective loyalty programs, Etihad Airways and Air France-KLM Group have partnered with Etihad Guest and Flying Blue, respectively, to allow members of both airlines' networks to earn and redeem points.
This collaboration follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September 2023.
Reciprocal Benefits and Expanded Routes
The perks that are exclusive to elite members will soon be available to everyone. More than 60 additional flights to destinations all over the globe will be available to Air France, KLM, and Etihad passengers starting on November 27, 2023. This initiative is crucial since, this past October, Air France started operating flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Redeeming and Earning Miles
Etihad Guest members now enjoy enhanced advantages in the reward program, allowing them to accumulate and utilize miles on Air France-KLM flights. Your Etihad Guest Miles can be employed for various purposes, including travel, global hotel accommodations, flights, and items available in the Etihad Guest Reward Shop.
Simultaneously, Flying Blue Miles offers opportunities for a diverse range of experiences, including flights, worldwide hotel stays, car rentals, or products from the Flying Blue Store.
Air France operates daily flights connecting Abu Dhabi International Airport to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, and concurrently, Etihad operates daily flights linking Abu Dhabi International Airport to both Amsterdam Schiphol and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
Arik De, Chief Revenue Officer at Etihad, expressed excitement about the expanded collaboration, emphasizing the benefits for Etihad guest members. The shared commitment between the airlines aims to provide seamless, premium, customer-centric travel experiences, benefiting their global customer base and the 20 million loyal Flying Blue members.
Angus Clarke, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air France-KLM, highlighted the significance of the partnership, especially in exploring opportunities in loyalty and enhancing the route network. Abu Dhabi's appeal as a destination and hub, coupled with Etihad's extensive footprint, adds richness to this partnership, reinforcing the commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences.
As both airlines seek to elevate customer satisfaction and loyalty, the expanded collaboration signifies a positive step toward providing enhanced travel options and rewards for their valued members.
