Dubai RTA Offers Two Days of Free Parking for New Year Celebrations
In an effort to get people in the holiday mood, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has launched a two-day free parking program for the approaching holiday weekend.
Dubai Commemorates New Year with Free Parking
On the inaugural day of the new year, specifically on Monday, January 1, 2024, public parking fees will be waived, providing a welcome relief for those looking to participate in New Year festivities. Notably, Dubai already observes free parking on Sundays.
It's crucial to note that this complimentary parking arrangement excludes multi-level terminals. Regular parking fees will be reinstated on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, after the conclusion of the free parking period.
Extended Weekend Celebration for New Year
Dubai residents are in for an extended weekend delight, fostering a celebratory atmosphere as the new year begins. With January 1 falling on a Monday, designated as a public holiday, and coupled with the conventional Saturday-Sunday weekend, individuals can enjoy a well-deserved three-day break.
Schedule of RTA Services Adjusted to Celebrate the Long Weekend
To facilitate the public during the prolonged weekend, the RTA has adjusted the service timings for various facilities:
Technical Testing and Customer Service Centres: These establishments will remain closed on January 1, ensuring that vehicle-related services align with the public holiday.
Dubai Metro: Both the Red and Green lines will operate from 8 am on December 31, 2023, to 11:59 pm on January 1, 2024. This extended service duration accommodates commuters during the New Year celebrations.
Dubai Tram: For the duration of the holiday season, the Dubai Tram will run from 9 am on December 31, 2023, until 1 am on January 2, 2024, helping accommodate the public's transportation demands.
This considerate initiative by the RTA seeks to enrich the overall experience of residents and visitors during the New Year celebrations by providing convenient and cost-free parking options and ensuring accessible transportation services.
